Our Program
We teach kids to fish...literally
Lift All Boats gives students with no connections to our celebrated lobster industry the resources and mentorship they need try lobstering and build careers in the industry.

We get them the student license that is the key pathway to professional lobstering

We provide their gear and equipment and take them lobstering once a week

We buy their catch at market price so they make money and learn the economics of fishing

We provide free transportation and a meal at Luke's Lobster with every session
Some of our students see professional lobstering in their future. We connect them to the pros who are eager to hire, and our students provide the young workers they need to fish safely
Some students have fun but choose other career paths. We remain lifelong mentors to help them pursue their own passions, while retaining a love for the ocean and sense of belonging.

Our Why's
Youth Needs
Countless young people live close to the coast, but have no connection to marine careers that are hard to enter without pre-existing connections to industry participants. We bridge those gaps and provides resources these students typically lack.
Industry Needs
Fishermen traditionally rely on their family or close community to fill the junior roles on their boats. As fewer kids follow in their parents' footsteps, current fishermen are struggling to fill those necessary roles. We connect them with eager young fishermen they wouldn't otherwise know.
Community Needs
Maine relies heavily on its marine economy and cannot afford to see its fleet dwindle. Our community also gets stronger when more young people overcome barriers and achieve fulfilling careers. We help this rising tide lift all boats.
